Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is conveniently located near the stunning falls, but my stay revealed several issues with the room's cleanliness and overall upkeep. While I appreciated the friendly service from the staff, the state of the accommodations certainly left much to be desired, especially given the price.
Rooms
6.0
I was initially given a small room that felt cramped. When I moved to a cabin, it was a decent size but dirty, with unlocked windows and even a toothbrush left on the floor. Definitely needs a good cleaning.
Service
7.0
The staff, like Mary and Mandy at check-in, were really accommodating and friendly, which I appreciated. They made the experience a bit better, despite the room issues.
Location
7.0
The location is great since it's so close to Cumberland Falls, making it easy to access the site for hiking or sightseeing. However, it's a bit far off the main highway, which could be inconvenient.
Dining
5.0
I only had breakfast at the resort, and it felt more like a camp mess hall. The food was average, and I wish the restaurant had been open for dinner on Monday and Tuesday, as my options were limited.
Facilities
5.0
The resort facilities, including the rooms, are quite dated and in need of an update. The carpets were stained, and the common areas could use some sprucing up. It's not exactly what I expected for the price I paid.

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park offers stunning views and a great natural setting. though the lodge itself needs some updates. My experience with the staff was positive, as they were accommodating and friendly, but the dining options left much to be desired. Overall, I might consider returning, mainly for the park's beauty and proximity to the falls, even if the accommodations were somewhat lacking.
Rooms

My room was small yet clean and comfortable, and I appreciated the lovely view of the river. However, the decor felt dated and could use a refresh.

The staff were genuinely friendly, going above and beyond to help with my needs, especially when I required assistance with my room location due to accessibility concerns.
Location

The lodge is ideally situated near the beautiful Cumberland Falls, allowing for easy access to hiking and nature. However, it's quite remote, and the nearest town is about 18 miles away.
Dining

I found the dining experience disappointing. the food quality did not match the lodge's picturesque setting. I tried both the buffet and menu but was not satisfied after my one dinner.
Facilities
6.0
The lodge has a nice veranda with beautiful views of the river, which is a great spot to relax, but overall the facilities felt a bit dated and could use improvements.

My stay at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park had its ups and downs. The location is absolutely stunning, being just a short drive from the falls, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the accommodations were quite outdated and in need of some serious renovations, which detracted from the overall experience. While I appreciated the lovely views from the restaurant and the well-working free Wi-Fi, the lingering smoke smell in the rooms was quite off-putting.

The cabin had a strong smoke smell and felt very dated, leading us to switch to the lodge. The rooms were tight for our family of five.

Location

The lodge is perfectly located just a few minutes from the amazing Cumberland Falls, which made visits easy and enjoyable.
Dining

The restaurant at the lodge had a good buffet with reasonable prices and enjoyable meals, although we did experience some inconsistency with the food quality.
Facilities

While the lodge had a beautiful view and the patio was a nice touch, the facilities overall felt outdated and in need of upgrades.

Staying at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park had its ups and downs. I loved the beautiful, rustic charm of the Dupont Lodge and the very nice views of the surrounding woodlands. However, I was dissatisfied with the limited amenities and some issues during my stay, like the lack of a microwave in my room and breakfast that left much to be desired. Still, I'd consider returning for the natural beauty and the enjoyable meals at the lodge. 🌲🏞️

The room felt very small and had some dated decor. it reminded me more of a camp than a resort. It was comfortable enough for one night, but not what I expected from a lodge.
